Day 7, October 21: Los Arcos to Burgos – Travel day

We took a taxi from Los Arcos to Burgos so as to be able to walk a different part of the Camino – and see this beautiful city!

We treated ourselves staying in a beautiful hotel with a view on the cathedral – and a bathtub!

Burgos itself is a beautiful vibrant city with many restaurants, shops and cultural activities.

I had my first actual vegetarian meal of the trip (I’ve been living off of bread, cheese and pasta). It was a wonderful gourmet meal in a casual yet chi chi resto.

Wine literally does cost less than water in Spain. I pay 1.09 Euro for a non-alcoholic drink and Adrienne enjoys local wines at a mere 1.80 E per glass lol!

We walked the plazas and boulevards strolling along the cobble stone streets and buying yummy treats from the street vendors such as dried fruit and nuts.

We discussed our plan for the next leg of our pilgrimage and decided to take a bus to Astorga tomorrow so went to purchase the bus tickets for…wait for it…a 4:30 am bus!

We then retired to our hotel room where we each had our own room and I unpacked and repacked all my stuff (because I could). We both took baths and went to bed in anticipation of getting up at 3:00 am to catch the bus to make our way to Astoria.

What a luxurious day! A hotel room! A bath tub! Vegetarian food! Sweet treats! Exploring Burgos!

Feeling gratitude and re-sourced.
